Led Ribbon
Led Ribbon is a very versatile product. It is flexible illuminated ribbon sold per meter but is cuttable on 50mm incramints. It comes as a weatherproof model, fully submersable, high output and even in colours.
It is most commly sold along side kitchen splash backs, or as pelmet lighting, but because it can be used indoors or out, and the fact that the double sided tape makes it so easy to mount, you can use in just about any application like under this hand rail that is pictured.
